چکیده
Granular soil liquefaction, due to developed pore water pressure during undrained cyclic shear of saturated soils, is regarded as a common phenomenon under earthquakes loading. This results in the huge damage infrastructures. Various reinforcement materials have been successfully implemented with particular attention use waste satisfy design specifications and also reducing adverse environmental effects. paper investigates possibility using plastic fibers material mitigate liquefaction potential generation reinforced sand For this purpose, 42 stress-controlled triaxial tests were conducted on Babolsar sand, by polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polypropylene (PP) fiber contents 0.25%, 0.5% 1%, confining pressures 50, 100 200 kPa, stress ratios (CSR) 0.2 0.35. Results revealed that addition these could significantly increase resistance also, an content, number cycles leading increased. Adding wastes decreased generation, effect was more pronounced content.

Impact of Micropiles Installation on Liquefaction Potential of Saturated Silty Sand Using Numerical Method
This paper investigates the effect of micropile installation into saturated sandy soil by means of finite element method. The obtained results from numerical modeling are compared with the received data from the site. The validation of software has been done by simulating standard penetration test. The effect of some changes in spacing (3m, 1.6m and 0.8m) and injection pressure (1cm, 2.5cm, 5cm...
متن کاملImprovement of Strength Parameters of Sand Reinforced with Polymeric Fibers
Triaxial consolidated drained, unconfined compression, and CBR tests have been conducted in order to study the stress-strain, strength, and volume change characteristics of fine sand specimens reinforced by polymeric fibers made from carpet wastes. The variables are aspect ratio (length/width) and weight percentage of the fibers. The results indicate that the peak strength and total volume chan...

متن کاملInvestigation of Liquefaction Mechanism in Double Sand Lenses
In many cases of heavy earthquakes, liquefaction has resulted in serious damages. Existing anisotropy in soil layers results in some difficulties to realize the reason for these phenomena. Loose sand lenses buried in fine soils are one of the cases which may result in these problems and as a weak point during the earthquake can cause this phenomenon. In this paper, using FLAC 2D software, doub...
متن کاملInvestigation of Liquefaction Mechanism and Displacement in Buried Sand Layers
One of the most important reasons for damages during earthquakes is the liquefaction of loose and saturated sand soils. However, in many regions with proper soil specifications, the large settlements have been observed in the ground surface. Loose sand layers buried in fine soils are one of the cases which may result in these problems and as a weak point during earthquake can cause this phenome...
